Career

Lombardo began his professional career with Atalanta in 2004. In 2005 and 2006, he was loaned to Perugia and to Rieti. [1]

He joined Toronto FC in their inaugural season of Major League Soccer in 2007 and played two seasons with the club before being released.

Lombardo went on to play 4 games for the York University soccer mens team. However, he was found to be violation of Ontario University Athletics rules because he did not maintain amateur status, having played professionally within the past year. All 4 games were overturned and despite rumours he had left the team, he re-joined the Lions for the 2009/2010 CIS season. [2] He signed in January 2009 an one year contract in Australia for Whittlesea Zebras FC.[3] On 28 April 2010 signed an one year contract for Canadian Soccer League club Portugal FC.[4]

International career

Lombardo has played for the Canadian Under-20 national side. He was part of the squad in 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship and the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Personal life

Lombardo holds an Italian passport by descent. He is a fan of Juventus FC, the basketball team Toronto Raptors and the hockey team the Montreal Canadiens. He speaks Italian, which he learned when he moved to Italy at the age of 16. Lombardo's father was born in Catanzaro, Italy, while his mother was born in Montreal, QC and is of Italian descent.
